Property Rights in Icelandic Fisheries
The Coase theorem can be used to handle the problem of public goods. For example, in Iceland, fishers have the rights to fish up to a specified limit and this prevents over-fishing. The valuation of a public goods requires the vertical summation of individual demand curves.
